Walking Benefits the Body, Mind and Spirit
Walking is a great way to improve overall health. Physical activity delivers nutrients and oxygen to the body, affecting the cardiovascular
and immune systems and helping the body become more resilient to disease and infection. Concentration, problem solving abilities and mood management are enhanced, leading to improved personal relationships and increased
general satisfaction.

The Body
Walking not only benefits our organs
and their associated systems but also our bone, muscle and joint health. Research has shown that maintaining a healthy lifestyle through
activities like walking reduces our risk of obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes and dementia.
The Mind
Walking increases the circulation
of blood through the body, including flow to the brain; helping with stress, anxiety and depression. Research has also demonstrated that increased blood flow allows clearer thinking and efficient information processing.
The Spirit
Walking and viewing local art aids
the spirit through heightened "mindfulness". Exposure to unique and artistic surroundings allows for a different view of the world and one's
seemingly ordinary community. Downtown Dallas is a diverse and interesting
neighborhood with a wealth of public art for everyone to enjoy and appreciate.
